Method

Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mozzarella

Take the mozzarella cheese and cut each piece into sticks if they are not pre-cut. Make sure they are evenly sized for consistent cooking.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

    Set up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, set up your breading station: one with all-purpose flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Coat the Mozzarella

Take each piece of mozzarella cheese and first coat it in flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing the excess to drip off, and finally coat it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs stick well.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test if the oil is ready by dropping a small piece of bread into the oil; it should sizzle and brown quickly.

  2. 5

    Fry the Cheese Sticks

Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning them occasionally for even cooking.

  3. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove the fried mozzarella sticks from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.
