Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Cook Pasta
Add 300g of pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
Making the Sauce

Heat Olive Oil
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Sauté Garlic
Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn them.

Add Cherry Tomatoes
Add 400g of halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they soften and release their juices.

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the tomatoes, along with 1 cup of reserved pasta water. Toss to combine.

Season the Dish
Stir in 1 cup of chopped fresh basil, 50g of grated Parmesan cheese, and season with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper. Mix well.
Serving

Serve the Pasta
Plate the pasta and garnish with additional basil and Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately.
