Bourbon Infusion

Caramelized Topping

Method

Bourbon Infusion

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peaches

Wash and slice the fresh peaches in half, removing the pits. Place the peach halves in a large mason jar.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the Makers Mark Bourbon over the peach halves in the jar. Add the brown sugar and vanilla extract. Seal the jar tightly.

  3. 3

    Infuse the Bourbon

Allow the mixture to infuse for at least 7 days in a cool, dark place. Shake the jar gently every couple of days to help dissolve the sugar and mix the flavors.

Caramelized Topping

  1. 4

    Prepare the Caramel

In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Stir gently to moisten the sugar.

  2. 5

    Cook the Sugar

Place the saucepan over medium heat and allow the mixture to boil without stirring. Cook until the sugar turns a deep amber color, about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 6

    Add Sea Salt

Remove the saucepan from heat and add a pinch of sea salt. Stir to combine. Let the caramel cool slightly until it thickens.
