Lamb Shawarma
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Marinate the Lamb
In a large bowl, mix together the minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade. Add the lamb and ensure it is fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 2
Cook the Lamb
Preheat your grill or oven to a medium-high heat. Remove the lamb from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Grill or roast the lamb for about 25-30 minutes, turning occasionally until it reaches your desired doneness. Allow the lamb to rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly.
- 3
Prepare the Pita
Warm the pita bread on the grill or in a hot pan for a couple of minutes until soft and pliable.
- 4
Serve
Serve the sliced lamb in the warm pita bread, topped with fresh parsley and drizzled with garlic sauce. Enjoy your homemade Lamb Shawarma!
