Chili Cheese Fries
Method
Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Fries
Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Spread the frozen French fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and black pepper. Bake according to package instructions until crispy and golden brown, typically about 20-25 minutes.
- 2
Heat the Chili
While the fries are baking, heat the chili in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 3
Assemble the Dish
Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the hot fries. Pour the warmed chili over the cheese and fries.
- 4
Final Bake
Return the loaded fries to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 5
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately with sour cream on the side if desired.
