Ladyfingers

Mascarpone Mixture

Method

Preparing the Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew Coffee

Brew 1 cup of strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix Coffee and Liqueur

In a shallow dish, combine the brewed coffee with 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur. Set aside.

Making the Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Incorporate Mascarpone

Add 16 oz of mascarpone cheese to the yolk mixture and mix until smooth.

  3. 5

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

  4. 6

    Fold Mixtures Together

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Soak Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer Tiramisu

In a rectangular dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture, smoothing the top layer.

Finishing Touches

  1. 10

    Chill Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  2. 11

    Add Cocoa Powder

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with grated dark chocolate.
