Place 1 cup ice cubes into a rocks glass to chill while you prepare the drink.

In a separate mixing glass, pour 60 ml Glenlivet 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky.

Add 10 ml simple syrup and 2 dashes Angostura bitters to the whisky in the mixing glass.

Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir gently for 20–30 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.

Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass over fresh ice (remove the initial chilling ice if desired).

Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink to release citrus aroma, then rub the peel along the rim and drop it into the glass as garnish. Serve.
