Ingredients

Dry Rub and Sauce

Preparation

Preparation and Cooking

1. Prepare the Dry Rub

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt.

2. Season the Ribs

Rub the dry spice mixture all over the pork button ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated. Let the ribs marinate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.

3. Make the Blueberry Bourbon Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the blueberries, bourbon, soy sauce, and honey. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the blueberries have burst and the sauce thickens, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

4. Cook the Ribs

Preheat your grill or oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the seasoned ribs on the grill or in a baking dish. Cook for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bone.

5. Glaze the Ribs

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the blueberry bourbon sauce over the ribs, allowing it to caramelize slightly.

6. Serve

Remove the ribs from the grill or oven, let rest for 10 minutes, then slice and serve with extra blueberry bourbon sauce on the side.
