Method
Chilling & Preparation
- 1
Chill the Coca-Cola
Place the unopened bottle or can of Coca-Cola in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours prior to serving for best results. If you need it faster, submerge the sealed can or bottle in an ice-water bath for 15–20 minutes or place in the freezer for 20–30 minutes — check frequently to avoid freezing or bursting.
- 2
Assembling the Drink
- 3
Fill the chilled glass with 1 cup (about 8–10 standard-sized) ice cubes, leaving room at the top for the Coca-Cola.
- 4
Open the chilled 12 fl oz can or bottle of Coca-Cola. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and minimize foam, filling to about 1 cm (1/2 inch) below the rim.
- 5
- 6
Insert a straw if using. Serve immediately to enjoy maximum fizz and crispness.
Serving & Notes
- 7
Taste and adjust: if you'd like a slightly lighter flavor, add a couple more ice cubes. For a less fizzy drink, pour more vigorously or let sit for a minute to dissipate some carbonation.
- 8
Storage: once opened and not finished, cover and refrigerate; consume within 24 hours for best carbonation.
