Method

Drink

  1. 1

    Chill bottle or can

Place the Coca-Cola in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours prior to serving, or store in an ice chest until the beverage reaches a pleasantly cold temperature (about 38–45°F / 3–7°C). For faster chilling, place the bottle or can in a bowl of ice and water for 20–30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare glass

If using ice, fill a clean serving glass about two-thirds full with 3–5 ice cubes depending on glass size. Using more ice will keep the drink colder but dilute it slightly as the ice melts.

  3. 3

    Pour Coca-Cola

Open the chilled Coca-Cola carefully to preserve carbonation. Tilt the glass at a 45° angle and pour the Coca-Cola slowly down the side of the glass to minimize foaming. Once the glass is about three-quarters full, straighten the glass and finish pouring to reach the top, leaving a small head of foam if desired.

  4. 4

    Garnish and serve

Optionally, run a lemon wedge around the rim and drop the wedge into the glass or place it on the rim as a garnish. Insert a straw if desired. Serve immediately while fizzy and cold.
