Method

Prepare Burger Patties

1

Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

2

Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook Burger Patties

3

Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little oil to prevent sticking if using a skillet.

4

Cook Patties

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness. If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Prepare Toppings

5

Slice Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, slice the avocado, tomato, and red onion. Prepare the jalapeños by slicing them if desired, and chop the cilantro.

Prepare Sauce

6

Mix Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lime juice, and chipotle sauce until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assemble Burgers

7

Toast Buns (Optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

8

Layer Ingredients

Spread the sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked burger patty on top, followed by slices of avocado, tomato, red onion, jalapeños, and cilantro. Top with the other half of the bun.
