Smoothie Base

Garnish (optional)

Method

Smoothie Base

  1. 1

    Combine fruits and liquids

Add the frozen mango, frozen pineapple, sliced frozen banana, coconut milk, orange juice, and lime juice to a blender. If your fruit is not frozen, add the 1/2 cup ice instead of frozen fruit listed above.

  2. 2

    Sweeten and flavor

Add the honey or agave syrup, grated ginger, and the pinch of turmeric (if using) to the blender.

  3. 3

Secure the lid and blend on high until completely smooth and creamy, about 45–90 seconds depending on your blender. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed and blend again to ensure uniform texture.

  4. 4

Check consistency. If the smoothie is too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons of additional coconut milk or orange juice and pulse to combine. If it’s too thin, add a few more frozen pieces of mango or pineapple and blend briefly.

  5. 5

Taste and adjust: add a little more honey/agave if you prefer sweeter, or another 1/2 teaspoon lime juice for extra brightness.

Brightening & Texture Add-ins

  1. 6

If using yogurt for extra creaminess, add it to the blender with the other ingredients before the final blend and blend until fully incorporated.

  2. 7

If you want a spicier ginger note, grate another 1/4 teaspoon and blend briefly to incorporate—be cautious, ginger can quickly dominate the flavor.

Garnish (optional)

  1. 8

Pour the smoothie into two chilled glasses (or one large glass).

  2. 9

Sprinkle toasted coconut flakes over the top, then garnish each glass with a lime wheel and a mint sprig.

  3. 10

Serve immediately with a straw. For a layered look: reserve 2 tablespoons of blended smoothie, stir in a little extra lime juice and pour over the top for a brighter finish before garnishing.
