Method

Beef Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

BBQ Sauce

  1. 4

    Add BBQ Sauce

During the last minute of cooking, generously brush BBQ sauce on each patty and allow it to caramelize slightly.

Crispy Onion Rings

  1. 5

    Prepare the Onion Rings

Slice the onion into 1/4-inch thick rings and separate them into individual rings.

  2. 6

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Slowly whisk in cold water until the batter is smooth.

  3. 7

    Fry the Onion Rings

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot over medium-high heat. Dip the onion rings in the batter, allowing excess to drip off, and carefully lower them into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Cheddar

  1. 8

    Add Cheddar Cheese

Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt slightly.
