Method
Ice Cream Preparation
Mix the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, pure vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Chill the Mixture
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or until it is thoroughly chilled.
Churn the Ice Cream
Once the mixture is chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically about 20-25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freeze the Ice Cream
Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
Whipped Cream Preparation
Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, beat on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
Serve
Once the ice cream is firm, scoop it into bowls or cones and top with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
