Burger Components

Onions

Awesome Sauce

Method

Prepare the Awesome Sauce

  1. 1

    Make the sauce

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sriracha, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated. Set aside.

Cook the Onions

  1. 2

    Sauté the onions

Peel and slice the yellow onions into thin rings. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes until they are caramelized and golden brown. Remove from heat and set aside.

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Form the patties

In a bowl, take the ground beef and divide it into 4 equal portions. Gently form each portion into a patty that is slightly larger than the burger buns, as they will shrink while cooking. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 4

    Crisp the bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 5

    Grill the patties

In the same skillet (with bacon drippings for extra flavor), add the burger patties. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a layer of romaine lettuce. Add the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, followed by a few slices of crispy bacon and a generous helping of sautéed onions. Drizzle with the awesome sauce and add ketchup to taste. Top with the other half of the bun.
