Specialty Burgers & More

  1. 1

    Season patty

Season the beef patty with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Preheat cooking surface

Heat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat and lightly oil the surface with the cooking oil.

  3. 3

    Toasting the bun

Split the hamburger bun and spread butter on the cut sides. Toast in a skillet or on the grill until golden and fragrant.

  4. 4

    Cook the patty

Cook the patty on the hot surface for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium, adjusting to desired doneness. Avoid pressing down on the patty.

  5. 5

    Melt cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place Swiss cheese slices on the patty and cover briefly to melt.

  6. 6

    Warm pastrami

Warm the pastrami slices in a pan or on the grill for 1-2 minutes until heated through.

  7. 7

    Caramelize onions

In a small skillet, cook sliced yellow onion with a touch of oil over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until deeply browned and sweet (about 8-10 minutes).

  8. 8

    Prepare condiments on bun

Spread ketchup on the bottom bun and spicy brown mustard on the top bun.

  9. 9

    Assemble Guido Burger

Layer the bottom bun with the cheese-melted patty, top with warm pastrami, then add caramelized onions and pickle slices. Cap with the top bun.

  10. 10

    Serve

Serve immediately. Optional: pair with fries or a pickle spear on the side.
