Lay out the bacon slices and cook in the skillet until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, turning once. Drain on paper towels.
- 3
Divide the ground beef into two equal portions and gently form two patties about 3/4 inch thick. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- 4
Place the patties in the hot skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium, flipping once. In the last minute, place cheddar cheese slices on top of each patty to melt.

- 6
Prepare toppings: wash lettuce, then slice tomato into four rounds and red onion into thin rings or half-moons. Gather pickle slices.
- 7
Spread ketchup on the bottom bun. Mix or spread mayonnaise on the inner sides of the top bun and add a small amount of mustard to taste.
- 8
Assemble: place a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by tomato and onion slices, then pickles. Add a cheese-melted beef patty, top with two slices of crispy bacon, then stack the second patty if you want a thicker burger. Cap with the top bun.

Optional finish and serving
Serve immediately with your favorite side. Garnish with extra lettuce or pickles if desired.
