Fried Pickles

Method

Fried Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading Station

In one bowl, add the flour. In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In a third bowl, combine the cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Bread the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice first in flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the cornmeal mixture, ensuring each piece is well-coated.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the breaded pickles in batches to the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Ranch Dressing

  1. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, buttermilk, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 7

    Whisk Until Smooth

Whisk all the ingredients together until smooth and well combined.

  3. 8

    Chill and Serve

Cover and refrigerate the ranch dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.
