Cake Preparation
- 1
Melt Chocolate and Butter
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
- 2
Whisk Eggs and Sugar
In a separate bowl, whisk together the large eggs, large egg yolks, and granulated sugar until the mixture is thick and pale, about 2-3 minutes.
- 3
- 4
Add Flour
Sift the all-purpose flour over the chocolate mixture and gently fold it in using a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 5
- 6
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 7
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
- 8
Cool and Serve
Remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate and gently lift it off. Serve immediately with two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
