Method
Chicken Tenders Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breast into strips, about 1 inch wide.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate bowls, place flour in the first bowl, beaten eggs in the second bowl, and breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in the third bowl.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Dip each chicken strip first into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Make sure each piece is well-coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the breaded chicken strips into the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary. Fry for about 4-5 minutes per side or until golden brown and fully cooked.
- 6
Drain and Keep Warm
Remove the chicken tenders from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Keep warm in a low oven while frying remaining tenders.
BBQ Sauce Preparation
- 7
Mix the Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 8
Simmer the Sauce
Heat the saucepan over medium heat and bring the sauce to a simmer. Stir occasionally for about 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 9
Cool and Set Aside
Remove the sauce from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
Honey Drizzle Preparation
- 10
Prepare Honey Drizzle
Measure out the honey and set it aside for drizzling over the chicken tenders before serving.
