Prepare the Pickles
Drain the sliced dill pickles well and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Make the Batter
In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add the buttermilk, whisking until the batter is smooth.

Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the batter, ensuring it is well coated.

Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the battered pickles into the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Drain and Serve
Remove the fried pickles with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with ranch dressing on the side.
