Bread Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Brush with Olive Oil
Place the slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with olive oil.

Toast the Bread
Toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning.

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a bowl.

Prepare the Basil
Chop the fresh basil leaves finely and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

Mince the Garlic
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the tomato and basil mixture.

Season the Mixture
Add salt and black pepper to the bowl and mix everything together until well combined.
Assembly

Top the Toast
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously over the toasted side of each slice.
