Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork ribs, ensuring an even coating.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). This low and slow cooking method will help make the ribs tender.

  3. 3

    Wrap the Ribs

Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil, creating a sealed packet to retain moisture during cooking.

  4. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.

Making the BBQ Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Stir the mixture and bring it to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Finishing the Ribs

  1. 7

    Preheat the Grill

While the sauce is simmering, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 8

    Glaze the Ribs

Once the ribs are done baking, carefully unwrap them from the foil. Brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce on both sides of the ribs.

  3. 9

    Grill the Ribs

Place the glazed ribs on the grill and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with more BBQ sauce until caramelized and slightly charred.

Serving

  1. 10

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
