Float assembly
Equipment
Method
Float assembly
Chill glass (optional)
Place the serving glasses in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before assembly to keep the float colder longer and reduce foam overflow.
Place 2 rounded scoops of vanilla ice cream into each chilled glass. Pack gently so the scoops sit just above the rim without compacting.
Top each float with 1 tablespoon of whipped cream if desired, and finish with a maraschino cherry on top.
Serve immediately with a long spoon and straw so the ice cream can be scooped and sipped together.
Equipment care
Rinse glasses and utensils soon after serving to prevent sticky residue from the root beer and ice cream.
