Garnish & Glass Prep
Method
Glass Preparation
- 1
Salt the rim
Pour the coarse salt onto a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a chilled rocks or coupe glass to moisten, then dip the rim into the salt, rotating so the salt adheres evenly. Set the glass aside.
Mixing & Shaking
- 2
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice (about 3/4 full).
- 3
Add 2 oz Exotico 100% Blue Agave Tequila to the shaker.
- 4
Add 1 oz orange liqueur (Cointreau). If you prefer a slightly sweeter or more orange-forward profile, also add 0.5 oz triple sec (optional) — otherwise omit the triple sec and keep the 1 oz orange liqueur.
- 5
Add 1 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice (about one large lime). Taste preference can vary; for a slightly tarter margarita use up to 1.25 oz lime juice.
- 6
If you prefer a slightly sweeter cocktail, add 0.25 oz simple syrup or agave nectar. This is optional and 'to taste' — skip for a classic drier margarita.
- 7
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.
- 8
Strain the cocktail through a fine strainer (or the shaker’s built-in strainer) into the prepared glass over fresh ice (if serving on the rocks) or neat if serving up.
Garnish & Serve
- 9
Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim or floated in the glass.
- 10
Serve immediately. Estimated single serving yields one cocktail.
