Method
Prep
- 1
Chill glass
Place your serving glass in the freezer or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure it's chilled.
- 2
Measure ingredients
Measure out 2 oz Tito's vodka, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 0.25 oz orange liqueur (if using).
Build & Shake
- 3
Add ice to the cocktail shaker until roughly three-quarters full (about 1 cup).
- 4
Pour in the measured Tito's vodka, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and orange liqueur (if using) into the shaker.
- 5
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes cold and slightly frosted. This chills and dilutes the cocktail to the proper balance.
Strain & Finish
- 6
- 7
- 8
If you prefer a slightly lighter, fizzier drink, top with about 1 oz of club soda and gently stir once to combine.
- 9
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Optionally express a lime peel over the drink to release oils before dropping it in.
Serve
- 10
Serve immediately while cold. Sip and adjust future pours of syrup or lime to taste (more syrup for sweeter, more lime for brighter).
