Method

Shake & combine

  1. 1

    Add ingredients to shaker

In a small (Boston-style) shaker tin, pour 2 oz bourbon, 3/4 oz fresh lime juice, 3/4 oz tart cherry juice and 1 dash Angostura bitters into the smaller tin.

  2. 2

    Add ice and seal

Add 10 pieces of pebble ice (or one cracked ice cube if pebble ice is unavailable) into the same tin, then seal the larger tin on top of the smaller tin to form the shaker.

  3. 3

    Shake vigorously

Shake the sealed shaker hard for about 10–15 seconds, or until you can no longer hear the ice rattling inside the tin and the outside of the tin feels very cold.

  4. 4

    Prepare glass

Fill a highball glass with fresh cubed ice (about 1 cup).

  5. 5

    Strain into glass

Open the shaker and strain the shaken cocktail over the fresh cubed ice in the prepared highball glass, leaving the small bits of melted ice behind in the shaker.

  6. 6

    Top with ginger beer

Top the cocktail with approximately 4 oz (or to taste) Badger Bevs Ginger Beer. Pour gently down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.

  7. 7

    Finish & garnish

Lightly stir once or twice with a bar spoon to integrate the ginger beer without flattening it. Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim or dropped into the drink. Serve immediately.
