Preparation

Prep & Shake

1. Chill glass

Place the Collins glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure it's cold.

2. Add ingredients to shaker

Fill a cocktail shaker with a generous handful of ice. Pour in 2 oz Dobel Diamante Cristalino tequila, 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice, 1/2 oz fresh lime juice, and 1 oz orange liqueur.

3. Add ginger beer and shake

Add about 1 oz cold ginger beer to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty. (Shaking with ginger beer adds light carbonation and blends flavors; if your ginger beer is highly fizzy, you can briefly stir instead to avoid over-foaming.)

Strain & Finish

4. Prepare serving glass

Discard the ice water from the chilled Collins glass if used, then fill the glass with fresh ice.

5. Strain cocktail

Using a Hawthorne or the shaker's built-in strainer, strain the shaken mixture into the ice-filled Collins glass.

6. Top (optional) and garnish

If desired for extra fizz, top with an additional 1/2–1 oz ginger beer (optional). Gently stir once to combine. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge on the rim or floated on top.

7. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer and enjoy. The tequila's crystalline texture with citrus and ginger beer creates a bright, effervescent Paloma twist.
