Chill the Glass
Start by chilling a highball glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water while you prepare the drink.

Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of Hennessy V.S. Cognac, 0.5 oz of fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup.

Shake Well
Add ice cubes to the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.

Strain into Glass
Dump the ice water from your chilled glass, then strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass filled with fresh ice cubes.

Top with Club Soda
Add 3 oz of club soda to the glass, gently stirring to combine.

Garnish and Serve
Garnish with a lemon wedge on the rim of the glass and serve immediately.
