Method

Salad Preparation

1

Prepare the Ingredients

Wash and dry the mixed greens thoroughly. Halve the cherry tomatoes, peel and chop the cucumber into bite-sized pieces, chop the red bell pepper, and grate or finely shred the carrots.

2

Chop the Salad

In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red bell pepper, and carrots. Toss the ingredients gently to mix them evenly.

3

Add Cheese and Season

Cube or shred the smoked cheddar cheese and add it to the salad. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

4

Make the Sage-Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

In a small bowl, combine 1 cup of buttermilk, 1/2 cup of mayonnaise, chopped fresh sage leaves, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well blended.

5

Dress the Salad

Pour the sage-buttermilk ranch dressing over the salad. Toss gently until all the ingredients are well coated.

6

Serve

Serve the salad immediately as a refreshing side or main dish.
