Prep
Prepare rim
Rub the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Spread the sea salt or chili-salt on a small plate and dip the rim to coat. Set the glass aside.
Mixing
Fill a cocktail shaker with the ice (about 6 oz by volume). Pour in 2 oz ghost tequila, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave syrup, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, and 1 oz fresh orange juice.
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well-chilled and slightly frosted. Shaking both chills and dilutes the drink to balance the heat and sweetness.
Finish & Serve
Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared rimmed glass over fresh ice (optional) or serve up (no ice) in the chilled coupe/rocks glass.
Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim and an orange slice or twist. Optionally express the orange twist over the drink to release oils, then drop it in.
Serve immediately. Taste: the ghost tequila provides pronounced heat that is tempered by the citrus brightness from lime and orange and the smoothing sweetness of agave and orange liqueur.
