Cocktail
Chill glass (optional)
If desired, place a coupe or rocks glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice water while preparing the cocktail to chill it.
Add the vodka, coconut purée, cranberry juice, fresh lime juice and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice (about 4–6 oz or enough to come two-thirds up the shaker). Secure the lid.
Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and you hear the ice slapping steadily. This both chills and slightly dilutes the drink and helps incorporate the coconut purée.
If using a chilled coupe: double-strain into the chilled glass to remove small ice shards and any coconut solids. If serving on the rocks: fill a rocks glass with crushed ice and strain the cocktail over the ice.
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Optionally sprinkle a few toasted coconut flakes or a couple fresh cranberries on top for visual contrast.
Serve immediately. Stir gently once if served over crushed ice to ensure even flavor.
