Prepare the Tomato Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, and chopped basil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir gently to combine all ingredients. Let the mixture sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Slice and Toast the Baguette
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices. Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil and place them on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
