Fried Flounder Ingredients
Method
Fried Flounder Directions
Prepare the Coating
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
Coat the Flounder
Dip each flounder fillet into the egg wash, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated. Shake off any excess coating.
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Flounder
Carefully place the coated flounder fillets into the hot oil, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried flounder from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with sides of fried oysters, fried shrimp, French fries, and southern coleslaw.
