Method
Brown Butter Preparation
- 1
Brown the Butter
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Continue cooking, swirling the pan occasionally, until the butter turns golden brown and gives off a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Salted Caramel Sauce Preparation
- 2
Make the Caramel Sauce
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the granulated sugar and allow it to melt without stirring. Once the sugar is completely melted and turns a light amber color, carefully add in the unsalted butter, whisking until melted. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking constantly until the mixture is smooth. Stir in the sea salt, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
