Ingredients
Coffee Beans
Water
Optional Additions
Brewing Coffee
1. Measure Coffee Beans
Start by measuring 1 cup of Colombian coffee beans. Ensure that the beans are fresh and ideally ground just before brewing for optimal flavor.
2. Boil Water
In a kettle, bring 4 cups of filtered water to a boil. Once boiling, remove the kettle from heat.
3. Add Coffee Grounds
Place the measured coffee beans into a coffee grinder. Grind them to a medium-coarse consistency, similar to sea salt. This will ensure proper extraction during brewing.
4. Combine Coffee and Water
In a French press or coffee maker, combine the ground coffee with the hot water. Stir gently to ensure all grounds are saturated.
5. Steep Coffee
Allow the coffee to steep for about 4 minutes. If using a French press, place the lid on top but do not press down yet.
6. Press and Serve
After steeping, press down the plunger on the French press or simply pour from the coffee maker. Serve the coffee hot.
