Method
Base & Sweetener
Measure and pour 1 cup fresh orange juice into a cocktail shaker or large mixing glass.
Add 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice to the orange juice to brighten the mix.
Add 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup. If you prefer a sweeter drink, increase to 1 tablespoon; for less sweetness start with 1 teaspoon.
Integrate flavors
Fill the shaker or mixing glass halfway with ice and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds to chill and slightly dilute the citrus and maple—this helps the maple syrup integrate with the juices.
Carbonation & Finish
Prepare a serving glass (a Collins or highball glass). Fill it with fresh ice to the top (about 1 cup).
Strain the chilled citrus-maple mixture from the shaker into the prepared glass over the ice.
Top gently with 3 ounces club soda or sparkling water. Pour slowly down the side or over the back of a spoon to preserve carbonation and create a gentle layered effect.
Finish & garnish
Give the drink one gentle stir (1–2 turns) to integrate soda without flattening it. Garnish with an orange slice on the rim, a lemon wheel or twist, and a sprig of fresh mint for aroma if desired.
Serve
Serve immediately while cold and fizzy. Optionally provide a straw or stirrer.
