Parrot-tini Cocktail
Method
Parrot-tini Cocktail

- 2
Combine ingredients
Add the white rum (2 oz), fresh lime juice (0.75 oz), pineapple juice (1 oz), elderflower liqueur (0.25 oz) if using, simple syrup (0.5 oz), and a dash of Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker. Add crushed ice (about 3 oz) to the shaker.
- 3
Shake
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold and well-chilled and the outside is frosted. This both chills and dilutes the cocktail to balance flavors.
- 4
Strain & layer color
Place 3–4 ice cubes into the chilled serving glass if you prefer it on ice, or leave the glass empty for a straight-up martini. Double-strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer (or a Hawthorne strainer) into the glass to remove tiny ice shards and pulp.
- 5
Add blue curaçao accent
Slowly pour the blue curaçao (0.5 oz) over the back of a spoon held just above the drink’s surface to create a floating blue accent or gentle swirl. The heavier curaçao will sink a little and create a colorful layered effect reminiscent of tropical parrots.
- 6
Garnish & finish
Garnish the cocktail with a lime wheel on the rim and optionally a paper umbrella or an edible flower for a tropical presentation. Serve immediately.

Notes on balance
If the drink tastes too tart, add another 0.25 oz simple syrup and gently stir. If too sweet, add 0.25 oz more lime juice. Adjust elderflower liqueur or blue curaçao amounts to preference, keeping total alcohol balance in mind.
