Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that your batter cooks evenly.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Combine Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Melt the unsalted butter and let it cool slightly, then add it to the wet mixture and mix well.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are fine.
Cooking
- 5
Pour Batter
Grease a baking dish or muffin tin with butter or cooking spray. Pour the batter into the prepared dish, filling each muffin cup about 2/3 full.
- 6
Bake
Place in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 7
Cool
Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serving
- 8
Serve
Once cooled, slice the baked item into portions. Top with fresh strawberries, a dollop of whipped cream, and a drizzle of maple syrup before serving.
