Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

Layer the lettuce leaves on the bottom bun, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slice, pickles, and your choice of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
