Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until frothy.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until combined.
- 4
Knead Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5
Let Dough Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Assembly
- 6
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 7
Roll Out Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 14x10 inches).
- 8
Add Fillings
Layer the salami, ham, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, and Italian seasoning evenly over the dough.
- 9
Roll Up the Stromboli
Starting from one of the long sides, carefully roll up the dough tightly, enclosing the fillings.
- 10
Seal Edges
Pinch the edges to seal the Stromboli and tuck the ends under.
- 11
Apply Egg Wash
Transfer the Stromboli to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
- 12
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- 13
Cool and Slice
Remove from oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
