Pasta and Burrata

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatballs

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatballs

Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

Fennel Sausage

  1. 4

    Cook the Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the fennel sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spatula.

Bolognese Sauce

  1. 5

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion, carrot, and celery, sautéing until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 6

    Cook the Meat

Add the ground beef and minced garlic to the pot, cooking until the beef is browned.

  3. 7

    Add the Tomatoes and Wine

Stir in the canned tomatoes, red wine, salt, black pepper, and bay leaf. Bring to a simmer.

  4. 8

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce heat to low and let sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add milk in the last 10 minutes of cooking.

Pasta and Assembly

  1. 9

    Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 10

    Combine with Sauce

Add the cooked spaghetti to the Bolognese sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.

  3. 11

    Serve

Serve the spaghetti topped with meatballs or sausage, and add a piece of burrata cheese on top.
