Method

Prepare the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Lettuce

Rinse the Romaine lettuce under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Shake off excess water and pat dry with a paper towel. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.

Make the Croutons

  1. 2

    Prepare Croutons

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the bread into small cubes (about 1-inch). In a mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes, olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.

  2. 3

    Bake Croutons

Spread the bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the croutons are golden brown and crispy. Stir halfway through to ensure even browning. Remove from oven and let cool.

Prepare the Caesar Dressing

  1. 4

    Mix the Dressing

In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, anchovy paste, grated Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Add the chopped Romaine lettuce to a large bowl. Pour the Caesar dressing over the lettuce and toss gently to coat all the leaves evenly.

  2. 6

    Add Croutons

Sprinkle the baked croutons over the dressed salad and give it a light toss to distribute them throughout.
