Method

Chicken Tenders Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breast into strips, about 1 inch wide.

  2. 2

    Set up Breading Station

In three separate bowls, place flour in one, beaten eggs mixed with buttermilk in the second, and bread crumbs mixed with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in the third.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Dip each chicken strip first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally coat it with the bread crumbs. Set aside on a plate.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the breaded chicken strips into the hot oil. Fry for about 5-6 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Hand Cut Fries Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 7

    Soak the Fries

Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 8

    Fry the Fries

Drain and pat the fries dry. In another pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the potatoes in batches for about 4-5 minutes until they are golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, then sprinkle with salt.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Serve the chicken tenders hot alongside the hand-cut fries. Offer ketchup and honey mustard as dipping sauce options.
