Sweet Potato Fries
House-made Ranch
Method
Sweet Potato Fries
- 1
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Wash and dry the sweet potatoes. Peel if desired, then cut into evenly sized fries (about 1/4 inch thick).
- 3
In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, cornstarch, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, cayenne (if using), salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- 4
Spread fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between pieces for crisping.
- 5
Bake for 15-20 minutes, then flip the fries and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers are tender.
- 6
Remove from oven and season with a light pinch of additional salt if desired. Let rest 2-3 minutes.
House-made Ranch
- 7
In a medium bowl, whisk together sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth.
- 8
Whisk in buttermilk (or lemon juice) to reach your desired dipping consistency.
- 9
Stir in dill, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust with additional lemon juice if needed.
- 10
Chill the ranch in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to meld flavors.
