SOFT SERVE
Method
SOFT SERVE
- 1
Warm base and dissolve sugar
In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the organic whole milk, organic heavy cream, organic cane sugar, and fine sea salt. Whisk gently until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture is steaming, but do not let it boil.
- 2
Add vanilla
Remove the pan from heat and whisk in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- 3
Chill the base
Pour the mixture into a clean container, cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, ideally 4 hours or overnight, until thoroughly chilled.
- 4
Churn into soft serve
Once chilled, pour the base into your ice cream maker and churn for about 20–25 minutes, or until it reaches a thick, soft-serve consistency. Follow your machine's instructions for best results.
- 5
Serve or store for a softer texture
Serve immediately as soft serve right after churning for the creamiest texture. If you prefer a slightly firmer scoop, transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 1–2 hours; note this will not be as soft as machine-temp soft serve.
