Rainbow Sprinkles - Base and Color Components

Method

Rainbow Sprinkles - Base and Color Components

  1. 1

Line a large sheet of parchment paper or a silicone baking mat with a clean surface and have it ready for piping the colored melts.

  2. 2

In a microwave-safe bowl or a small double boiler, melt the white candy melts until smooth. If using a microwave, heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between bursts to prevent scorching.

  3. 3

Add 2 teaspoons of neutral oil to the melted candy melts and stir until the mixture is glossy and pours smoothly.

  4. 4

Divide the melted white chocolate evenly into six small bowls.

  5. 5

    Color the bases

To each bowl, add the corresponding gel food coloring and mix well until the color is fully saturated: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

  6. 6

Transfer each colored melt into a piping bag or a small resealable bag with a tiny corner snipped.

  7. 7

On the prepared parchment, pipe long, thin lines of each color, keeping the lines close together to create a rainbow sheet.

  8. 8

Let the colored lines dry completely at room temperature, which should take 15–30 minutes depending on thickness. For faster setting, you can refrigerate briefly, but avoid condensation.

  9. 9

Once fully set, gently peel the lines from the parchment and crumble or chop into small, sprinkle-sized pieces. Combine all colors to form rainbow sprinkles.

  10. 10

Store the rainbow sprinkles in an airtight container at room temperature, away from moisture and heat, for up to 2 weeks.
