Method

BURGERS

  1. 1

    Prepare Blue Ring BBQ sauce

In a medium saucepan, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder (for sauce), chili powder. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat and cook 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Preheat grill and prep toppings

Preheat grill to medium-high (about 400°F / 205°C). If desired, lightly oil the grates. Slice tomato and red onion; wash lettuce and pat dry. Butter the brioche buns for toasting.

  3. 3

    Shape and season beef patties

Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently form into patties about ¾ inch thick. Season both sides with 1 tsp salt (for beef), ½ tsp black pepper, ¼ tsp garlic powder (for beef), and ¼ tsp paprika (for beef). Handle the meat gently to keep it juicy.

  4. 4

    Grill patties and melt cheese

Place patties on the grill. Cook 3-4 minutes per side for medium, flipping once. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush both sides with Blue Ring BBQ sauce and top each patty with a slice of cheddar to melt.

  5. 5

    Toast buns

Split brioche buns and toast the cut sides on the grill or in a skillet with the 1 tbsp of butter until golden and lightly crispy.

  6. 6

    Assemble burgers

Spread extra sauce on the bottom buns. Add lettuce leaves, tomato slice, and red onion. Place the cheddar-melted patty on top, drizzle more sauce if desired, and crown with the top bun. Serve immediately.
