There’s always room for a deliciously sinful end to the meal. All of Gotham’s desserts are made in house, from scratch, and taste even better than they look. Simple and classic, they’re utterly irresistible.

Gotham was creating delicious, unique cocktails before they were a craft. The cellar is deep, and known for cult favorites as well as unique, boutique finds.

Wine & Cocktails

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Preheat the Oven

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.

Mix Dry Ingredients

Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until well combined.

Add Wet Ingredients

Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth. Note that the batter will be thin.

Incorporate Boiling Water

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Bake the Cakes

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks before frosting or serving.

Boiling water

Place a cocktail glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

Chill the Glass

In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine the dry gin, sweet vermouth, and orange bitters.

Mix the Ingredients

Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled. Strain into the chilled cocktail glass.

Stir and Strain

Express the oils from the lemon twist over the drink, then drop it into the glass as a garnish.
