Heat water to the right temperature
Pour 2 cups (approx. 480 ml) filtered water into a kettle and heat to about 175°F (80°C). If you do not have a thermometer, bring water to a near-simmer and let it cool 1–2 minutes — avoid boiling water, which will make the tea bitter.

Steep
Pour the heated water over the tea leaves (and flowers if added). Steep for 2 minutes for a delicate cup, or up to 3 minutes for a slightly stronger flavor. If you prefer a lighter jasmine aroma, add the dried jasmine flowers only for the last 30 seconds of steeping rather than the full time.

Remove leaves and flowers
After steeping, remove the infuser or strain the tea into a serving vessel to stop extraction. Leaving leaves in will increase astringency and bitterness.

Serve
Pour the jasmine green tea into cups and serve immediately. Enjoy as a warm, delicate, floral tea. Optionally, garnish with a single jasmine petal for presentation.
